Project Overview
The task was to develop a complete set of working engineering documentation for import substitution of the Rollix 13.0705.01 slewing bearing manufactured in France. The unit is used in log-debarking equipment. Because sanctions stopped deliveries of the original product, the client needed accurate documentation to manufacture an equivalent in China.
Work Performed
The project began with an on-site inspection of the only available sample, a used bearing with worn raceways, scoring, and grease contamination. A wedge plug in a conical loading hole required a dedicated safe disassembly method before the unit could be taken apart.
After disassembly, cleaning, and degreasing, the outer ring, inner ring, cage, and rolling elements were scanned in high resolution. The resulting point cloud was post-processed to correct wear and restore nominal dimensions. Material selection and technical justification were then prepared, including the choice of standard H 25.4 G100-0 balls according to GOST 3722-2014, confirmation that the G100 accuracy grade was optimal for operating speeds of 300-400 rpm, and justification for induction hardening of the raceways to 55-62 HRC.
The final stage was preparation of a complete documentation package: 3D models in STEP, m3d, and a3d formats, plus assembly and detail drawings created in accordance with ESKD requirements.
Result
The client received a production-ready documentation package. The part was manufactured in China at the end of December 2025, and the client confirmed satisfaction with the quality and further cooperation prospects.
